Tax incentives for local business
I would like to see the city and the state provide tax incentives for local business to hire from within the state instead of pooling from across the country and elsewhere in the world. This huge influx of workers from everywhere but Washington is just adding to the unemployment rates here not to mention it also contributes to driving up the price of housing and straining our already crowded roadways.

Opting Out of Unwanted Fliers/Menus
The City of Philadelphia and (it was proposed in the City of New York) has a law where households can register to NOT receive unwanted advertisements on their door. Menus, Fliers, you name it. Register with the city that you don't want them, display a sticker, and if you get one, the advertising business gets fined.
This Opt-out can... *Generate revenue for the city *Cut down on paper use *Cut down on litter *Improve safety if you are not at home for a period of time (if there are 3 fliers on your door- people will know you're not home)

More (Decent) Public Tennis Courts
Granted we don't get a lot of sunny days but when we do, it's awfully hard to find an open court. Plus, there's only a handful of lighted courts in King County.

The city of Portland has pioneered electric charging stations throughout the Seattle. It would be great if the city had coin-operated charging stations for electric vehicles around the city.

Tax Incentives for Green Business
With the mayor's latest climate initiatives, there needs to be more incentives (tax breaks, etc) for businesses in the city that enable green initiatives.

Get Rid of The Bus Free Ride Area
If we can charge visitors $4.50 to ride the monorail why can't we charge them $1.50 to ride the bus? Bus commuters already have transfers or most likely took the bus to get downtown. If the purpose of the bus it to allow tourists downtown to easily get around the city why are there rarely any tourists on the bus?

Scooter / Moped Parking
People should be allowed to park scooters/mopeds on the sidewalk. As long as they are not blocking the pathway. This would allow for more parking on the street and its impossible to attach a parking sticker to a scooter/moped without the possibility of theft.

Replace the Viaduct with a Tunnel
The Viaduct is an eyesore and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. In addition, it is aging and may not survive the next earthquake. Lets seize the opportunity to create a vibrant new waterfront community with a viaduct tunnel.

Replace the Viaduct with a New One
Everyone loves the viaduct. Replace it now with a better one! It'll be cheaper, and we'll still have a alternate North/South alternate to the I5 mess.

More Commuter Lanes!
Seattle's traffic situation is horrible. The city needs more commuter lanes to handle the flow of traffic better.

Add One More Stop on the Original Monorail
Why not just make the Monorail go one more stop south on 5th ave? Even one more stop on there would make it more useful....
