People should be allowed to park scooters/mopeds on the sidewalk. As long as they are not blocking the pathway. This would allow for more parking on the street and its impossible to attach a parking sticker to a scooter/moped without the possibility of theft.
For real. At the very least there should be designated street parking for two-wheeled vehicles that have some sort of post to lock the bike to. A lot of mopeds and scooters can be easily stolen and that's why people park them on the sidewalk.
As the owner of a scooter shop in Seattle, Sound Speed Scooters, I of course agree. Security is one issue, but in addition, it just makes no sense for a small bike to take up parking of an entire car parking spot!
